🚩 Let’s talk about what really drives execution and results.

Where Most Strategies Fail and How to Make Yours Work

I used to think strategy was everything.

I’d spend hours making the perfect plan. Every detail right. Every bullet point tight. I’d share it with the team. Everyone would nod.

But then nothing happened.

The plan would just sit there.

Endless approvals. Too many steps. Meetings that led nowhere. We’d wait for the final signature. By the time it came, the moment was gone.

That’s when I realized: it’s not the plan that fails. It’s the execution.

So I changed how I worked.

We Stopped the Red Tape

I used to think approvals made us safe. Like another signature would keep problems away.

But every step killed speed.

People chased signatures. More follow-ups. More emails. The opportunity was gone.

One day, I saw a project stuck because it needed seven signatures.

Seven!

That’s when I knew we had to change.

We started asking: does this approval reduce risk? Or does it just slow us down?

If it slowed us down, we cut it.

That decision cut our time to market by 30 percent.

We Made Faster Decisions

I used to wait for all the data.

Every piece of info. Every report.

But perfect data never came.

While we waited, opportunities disappeared. Competitors moved. Energy faded.

I realized: a good decision now beats a perfect one next week.

We started making calls with 80 percent of the data.

If we were wrong, we’d fix it fast.

Speed created momentum. Momentum created results.

We Focused on Results

My calendar was full of meetings.

Weekly updates. Status reports. Check-ins.

But were they moving us forward?

We started asking: does this actually matter?

If not, we cut it.

We got ruthless.

We tracked what mattered.

We celebrated wins that actually moved the business.

Here’s the bottom line:

Execution is where everything lives or dies.

It’s not about the perfect plan. It’s about moving fast, staying focused, and clearing the clutter.

Ask yourself:

  • Where’s the red tape in your team?

  • What decision could you make today?

  • What’s slowing you down?

  • And how can you cut it?

This week, pick one process, one decision, or one meeting. Cut it. Simplify it.

I want to hear how it goes.
